Phenylbutazone Powder
Looks like a mouthful, eh? Well, it’s a pain in the ass!
It’s a pain reliever that is no longer usable on humans (it was withdrawn by the FDA because it did something to the blood), but is still used on horses.
We compound it at work for the vet. Basically, you take a pound jar, you put in a hundred grams of the powder (which has the consistency of powdered sugar), add a gram of apple flavoring, and half a gram of stevia sweetener.
Then, you take a hand mixer with only one blade and carefully mix it up in the jar. Add a scoop, close, label, repeat.
Thirty-six times.
Thirty-six times!
Yes, the vet orders this in bulk. Up to twice a month.
But, that’s not the worse part. The powder gives people who inhale it massive headaches. So, I have the air conditioning going, the hepa filter running full blast, wearing a heavy mask (which is a pain in itself), and gloves.
I timed it so that when I'm done doing this, I can go to lunch for an hour to give the lab time to clear out.
Joy of joys.
I hate this stuff.
Oh well... a dozen down, two dozen to go!

Irony
Today, while driving to work, I was behind a car covered in environmental
stickers. "Save the whales", "Save the trees", "save the honey badger". That
sort of sticker.
The irony?
The woman driving was flicking her cigarette ash out the window.

T-Minus 10 days
In 10 days, I'll be in my new apartment.
In 3 days, I'll start on packing the disaster area that is my room. Luckily, my closet is full of pre-packed boxes (all of which are going into storage) and most of the mess in my room I'm trashing (I can tell just by looking at it. I don't care enough about it to keep in storage).

Chess for Adults!
Today, I received something I've been waiting for months. A chess set made of shot glasses!
It's not as big as it looks in the photo. Each glass holds 7mL. So, each side of the board is 2 1/2 shots. (Well, ok... it's 2.488888888 shots... But still!)
Now, I have something to decorate my new apartment with! [beam]
I got the item (and the picture above) from ABC Distributing.
Now, to find someone to play chess with!

Hi!
Well... It's been... a long time since my last post.
It's a combination of things. (No, it's not SIMs 2... I wish! Maybe after I move later this month.)
1) My 'net time has been massively curtailed at work because they actually want me to make compounds and not play! [pout]
2) I was pulled in by Neopets. Yes, I got sucked in. Mostly because of all the cool games you can play.
So... I'll try to do better, really!
Even though, I did find the perfect person to play Gambit if he ever shows up in an X-Men movie... It's an actor on Lost.
Have no idea what his name is... He's the guy who attempted the mercy killing on tonight's episode. He looks amazingly like Gambit in the X-Men comics.
I like Gambit. He's... well... Woof!
