Twice today, we've had a scam call at work. We know it's a scam, because we've actually been scammed by it in the past.
Basically, someone will call using the relay operator for the deaf.
And, then, they will proceed to try and buy a moderately expensive item (i.e. a blood pressure monitor) in bulk. 20-30 of them. They want us to put them onto a credit card and mail the items to them.
We did that once. For 25 blood pressure monitors (each worth about $80 retail). The day after the monitors were mailed, the credit card holder reversed the charge and cancelled the card (I never did find out, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was a stolen card). The person wanted them shipped to Florida. K and I tried to make the guy who did the order see that it was a possible scam, but he wouldn't listen. After
Well, today, twice, we've gotten a relay call trying to buy 30 blood glucose monitors. And, since they got two different clerks, who didn't know better, the clerks each wasted a good half hour on the call.

I was pondering age today.
I'm 29. But, I don't feel that old.
Most days, I feel like I'm a teenager.
When people ask my age, I actually have to think a moment. "Oh, yeah! I'm 29!"
What makes me feel old, is when I remember how old my younger brother is.
It doesn't matter that I'm 29. The fact that I have a 25 year old brother makes me feel old.
Not only do I feel like a teenager, but it seems like I look a teenager. I still get carded.
When I was 21 years old to 23 years old or so, I hated being carded. I would mutter, grumble, pout.
Now, I go "Sure! Here you go!"

Two days ago, I had my third year anniversary.

Well, I hope everyone had a good holiday...
I worked Christmas Day, then went to Disneyland on New Years Eve. Had a great time.
Anyway... While on vacation, I tried a new drink. Hot buttered rum. It's very good. And, I liked it so much, I wanted to have one at home.
The only problem? I have two types of rum and the recipe says to add a 'jigger' of rum.
I have a jigger. But, the jigger is two sided! One side is a shot, the other side is half a shot. Which side do I use? Or, do I use both?
So, I must use all the different combinations until I get it right.
Oh, woe is me. Le sigh, le weep, le boo hoo.
